I have a few points to make against raising the cap. First of all, high leveled monsters (such as bosses) hits/hp would have to be adjusted to account for players with higher skills. I'm sure that currently, there's a science to determining the difficulty of monsters in which the potential hits of players are taken into consideration. Change the level cap, and someone with combat skills maxed at 120 will have considerably less trouble with tough encounters than those without. You would either have to adjust the difficulty of existing monsters, or introduce an entirely new wave of content specifically geared towards even higher leveled players. Additionally, as someone who's not at all combat focused, I think there's already a large enough gap between those players who focus on combat skills, and those who prefer resource skills. A large percentage of the player base never even experiences God Wars, the KQ, Jad, or any other elite boss of that kind. Continuing to add more content for even higher levels seems a little counterintuitive. I think the cap's fine where it is and Jagex should continue developing high level content as they are.

i'm fine with this.

it's unlikely that they'll increase the difficulty of monsters, since, like you said, there are many players who hasn't had a chance to kill them yet. so it makes the latter more likely to happen if caps increased to 120, and obviously, harder monsters/bosses would mean new, higher level equipment that will entice high levels to continue playing instead of quitting from boredom.


besides, i don't like the fact that the best gear is something that level 80 shark botters and green dragon botters can buy and wear.

I think it would be better than what is happening now (people getting all 99s relatively easily then getting 200m in the easy skills), as it would force players who want to max to train all skills fairly equally, and I don't think we would see any maxed total levels for quite a while. If Jagex is raising the cap for 1 skill, they need to do it for all of them.

here's my thoughts.

since every man and his dog right now are maxed melee (99 att str def hp) it would make sense that the increase to 120 will be a good move.

not only will the max combat increase beyond 138, there'll also be more incentive for us to continue training melee after maxing, currently the only incentive around is slayer.

besides, i have over 30m hp exp, and i think since i've already earned "double lvl 99 exp" i certainly want to have it make a bigger difference than someone who has 13m exp.

combat is already op as it is. 120 strength/ranged would be crazy. would be nice for skills though.

Why not just increase max xp to 1 billion? That's give no-lifers and skillers something to do. :P Then increase max level to 120 or something. 120 is such an arbitrary number, though. It's like asking someone to pick a number from 1-100. Why 120? I don't see great significance in that. Like, what's the difference between 120, or 110, or 100, or 150? Just more levels imo. :?

Simply think here, if there's a guy with 120 str, overloads, etc etc in pvp he could pretty much kill anyone his level instantly. Aside from the pvp aspect it would be a decent addition it would mess up the entire hi-scores though.
