Title says it all. Today I skipped school and worked for 12 hours, 9 am to 9 pm, to work on my IB Math Internal Assessment. It ended up being 1,530 words.

But yea, how about you?

I have thought about it and have definitely wanted to, but I ended up not doing it.

If I need more time to work on something I just extend my day. I get something caffeinated and stay up later to get my work done.

Well, this only works if I don't need to get up early the next morning.

Coming to the end of IB, I found that I've NEVER had to skip a day at all to finish any internal assessments. I only remember that one time I had to finish a Biology IA and then revise for a Bio test as well on the same day. Which was ***. Ended up sleeping at 3 am =.=.

If you're good at planning your time you shouldn't need to skip a day to do any of your work. Don't take the *****'s way out. You should be doing work constantly instead of putting it off until you need to skip a day just to work on it.

A word of warning. You need 80% attendance at school for IB or you won't be eligible for the diploma. I know a few people that may not get their diploma because of that.

I skipped for the sake of skipping never to do work. I've still yet to discover where shakespeare comes in handy in the adult world.

Surprised I'm the first to say it i can't be alone.

Sometimes I think I did, but it's far better to get your **** done before class. I usually wasted all my time skipping and still do that. So unless you know you will get work done if you skip class...DON'T SKIP CLASS! ;)

I have not skipped school to work on projects, but I've skipped school to miss deadlines, therefore giving me an extra day or two to work on it.

But yeah I am with Creepy too, I have skipped school for the sake of not wanting to go too.

That's less than the amount of attendance required by my high school. Yes my entire high school said you must be there 90% of the time or else you will lose credit for your classes. Well that's eighteen days available to miss...

It was 90% at my school as well. The difference is your parents can and on occasion are taken to court if you drop below it. Thankfully that silly little law came into place during my last year if memory serves me correctly.

No, I have never skipped school to finish a project. I normally procrastinate until a couple of days before the project or whatever is due, then I figure something out and finish it. Only time I stayed up late to do a project was for my grade 9 grad. :P. Had to finish off a slide show.

I didn't skip until sixth form, by that time teachers and lessons were so lax skipping one would hardly effect my grade. I probably skipped about 1/4 of my lessons in my last 2 years and school and still came out with AAA at A Level.
At Uni I've skipped alot of lectures to finish assignments, as with sixth form the lecturers don't particularly mind if you're not in a lecture, attendance is monitored half heartedly but it's easy to beat the system. A register is handed round during the lecture and you need to sign your name, but aslong as you've got a friend there to sign your name it's fine. All the lecture notes are online though so I techincally don't miss anything that will be examined.

really not that unfair if you think about it, missing ~20 days of school is a lot
