If you do some research, some prototypes of that kind of stuff already exists. However, to have and use it with such ease like that will most likely not happen in out lifetime. I do believe however that our children will most definitely be using that kind of stuff :D

They have stuff like that in Disneyland USA. I have never used it, but I've seen a lot of commercials and specials on the Discovery Channel and it could be in the near future, keep a look out for it.

A lot of that stuff is already working and being tested, no reason why you shouldn't see it brought in over the next 10-20 years.

The touch table that you saw has already been demoed and MS want to bring it into restaurants and things in the next few years last i heard.

it would happen a verryyyy long time from now.
but first they would have to preserve the ice caps or we wont get that far.
and I can sure as hell tell you it wont be America to discover any of it.

I wouldn't say it won't happen because eventually it will. This is a new era of science, so you can't automatically assume that we're still in the 1900s barely discovering technology..

In this week's Update Shane and Bard talked briefly about Microsoft's 2019 Vision.

The show notes (http://update.rsbandb.com/2009/03/rsbandbupdate-194-lets-hold-hands-and-dance/) fro that episode gives a link to a blog post that discusses the video, but only includes a short version The full 5 minute version can be found here (http://www.istartedsomething.com/200902 ... s-vision-2019-video/)- the bottom video.

It essentially a marketing video, but Microsoft obviously believes that what this video shows will indeed be possible by 2019. I'm generally pretty optimistic about this sort of thing, and as Brad and Shane said in the podcast, judging by where we were technologically ten years ago, it certainly seems as if, assuming that we continue are ever-accelerating progress in this field, that what the video shows will become true in a similar time-frame. I am however a little skeptical that these technologies will be in our every-day lives in ten years time. Such products may well exist, but I think that by 2019 they will still either be prototypes or too expensive for the average person to afford.

Please discuss this subject and tell us what you think!

Maybe possibilities for Apple, but Microsoft? We'll see.
