Firemaking Question

well i'm currently buying my way to 99 fletching,
but after that i'm going for woodcutting and firemaking.

i'm going to cut willows for fast wc xp.

but i thought to myself should i cut til 99 then sell them for logs with higher xp?
you guys tell me if its a good idea

It all depends on how much time you want to dedicate to do FM. If you don't mind FM for a while, then the willows that you cut are fine to burn. I would personally sell them and buy Maples. I'm pretty sure that's what most people burn for 99. It's all a matter of how long you're willing to FM. I would recommend selling for a higher exp-giving log though.

You should use the Kingdom of Miscellania to collect maple logs for you while woodcutting too. It would mean less maples to buy later. And you get nests + tree seeds which is good either way if you value money or farming. You can also grind the nests and sell the crushed nssts which gives quite a bit of money as I remember (secondary ingrediant for Saradomin Brews)
Not sure if you need to do the Kingdom of Miscellania's sequel to get the extra workers after putting 100% labour on something, but if you do have extra with maples on full, you could put them on flax or coal. Those are the best for selling still, I think.
It does cost money but it's all less than the GE prices. (Although my thoughts on the Kingdom are from before everyone used it, it could be worse now. XD The seeds are something that makes me do maples though)

That way if the willows don't pay for all the maple logs (which I don't think they do) or they don't sell at all, the Kingdom can cover some of it. It's worth doing, if only for the logs.

I agree with Warren about selling the willows and using the money towards maples. But, the odds of people buying willows is very low. So, I suggest that you cut willows and burn willows. Also, use your kingdom to get maples. But other than that, burn your willows so that way you dont have to use extra cash.

NEVER USE YOUR KINGDOM FOR MAPLE LOGS YOUR BETTER OF BUYING IT STRAIGHT OF THE G.E. AND ANY ONE THAT TELLS YOU OTHER WISE IS IGNORANT AS TO HOW THE ISLAND WORKS!!! use it for coal and sell it.then use your profits to buy yourself some maples. sorry for the caps but you kinda buy all those maples at 56.1 coins each and thats if you keep your approval at 100%...

I'm with kyle here. Use the adze, wear the gloves and ring.. boom.. More exp than you can shake a tree limb at.

Josec, come on. You know maples are alot slower. In the long run, willows will get you 99 wc and 99 fm before you are even done cutting your maples. Maples are like the slowest trees to cut other than mages

My recommendation is to cut willows and sell those willows to burn maples. This will take the shortest amount of time without costing you a fortune. If you were to do skills which profited in the difference of the time it'd take to get to 99 firemaking with maple logs compared to willow logs, you would easily make back the tad bit of extra money spent plus most likely a few mil profit.

If you decide willows, it takes a long time. You might want to buy maples. Though willows are cheaper, the extra cost for maples is nice enough to buy them for faster xp. I tried willows for a while and got bored often, but its possible and entirely the most efficient from an economic stand point.

Willows take a long time to get 99 Firemaking, what you could do it get 99 Woodcutting with yews then burn the yews to get 99 Firemaking and sell the rest (if there is a "rest") and make some money, then go back to the yews and get more money, I thought of doing that. If you don't want to do that, Get maples from the kingdom, ask anyone it only takes like a couple of weeks to get all the maples you need for 99 Firemaking, pus, you can get other resources to get money to put back into the Kingdom. But, in the end, you will choose the best choice grasshopper.

Or just cut and sell all the yews and get maples...makes more sense to me than burning the yews. But I am f2p, so I'm a little biased. :roll:
