Why do people have to the glory of any achievement away just because they're "better"?

Because it's fun seeing the victims cry
Because people like to think they're special?
And because they enjoy 1-upping anyone and everyone at all opportunities.
Because people whine about it.
Let's say I just got 98 Woodcutting, i tell everyone, then someone comes and says they have 99. It makes the person that got 98 fell they did all that hard work for nothing. (@Darthiness)
The fact you care about it is the problem.
I don't really care about it. It's about why people would be so rude to do it!
