I know a while ago, people were saying that Runefest shouldn't be hosted in America (particularly the U.S.), giving one reason that the majority of the RS player base is located in England/Europe. Yet, Based on Mod MMG's map in the "Myths and Misconceptions" news post, 57% of the player base is located in North America (27% more than in Europe which includes England).

Based on this map and in my opinion, this is no longer a valid "excuse" to justify hosting Runefest in England every year. So, that said, should Runefest be hosted in North America where most the players are?

They would have to send over tons of their staff+whatever else they need to bring so it would increase the cost immensely.

I think this is a double edged sword. The reasons to have it i London as compared to anywhere in the US is concentration and lack of expense. Sure, North America has the upper hand in percentage. But look at the much larger area the fans would still have to travel just to go to this. It will take the same amount of devotion to get to runefest as flying to it in Europe.
As for expenses, I feel that this may be a good point, but I think the main reason is not money but risk. Money can be made back of invested in for this event. Need more money, make it bigger, offer more tickets, big deal. flop on higher expenses to allow this to happen.... yea, that is why runefest is staying in Europe.

It doesn't make any sense to be in North America. 27% of players is not enough to justify shipping your entire Convention out of country. This would then require every attending staff member to get/have a passport, then they have to ship all their displays, party favors, etc. Not to mention renting a place out-of-country which would require either doing so unseen or sending a small team to investigate it beforehand, which again is unnecessary cost.

Also, I don't think there are that many North Americans who would go to it that don't already.

Also, that map doesn't seem right. Only 2% of players in Asia, which is including Russia? That seems extremely unlikely.

Oh, I beg to differ. Depending on the location in North America, you would have lots of players travelling to RuneFest that can't afford to fly to England. North America travel is very cheap and efficient. If it came to North America, say in Chicago or perhaps even Toronto, I'd go.
