Today I had my first license test at my local DMV. I took the test, paralleled parked fine and everything. Turns out at the end of the test my examiner failed me for stopping on the white line at a red light. I was really disappointed, especially because it was a 30 minute drive each way and I couldn't reschedule til mid August because they were so booked. Did Anyone else fail there permit or license test? Just looking to post a thread about peoples experiences with their local license tests.

Well, as many may know, I live in Quebec and here how it works:

At the age of 16, you can go pass a theorical exam of 64 questions divided in three categories: The two first have 16 questions each, and the last one 32. If you have 75%+ in every categories, you are awarded by a Temporary License, which allows you to drive WITH someone who has a license. You are allowed to take the exam on the road 12 months after that.
At this test, I scored 63 out of 64.

A year later, I took the test on the road. The instructor(teacher, examiner? whatever) HATED me for unknown reasons. My guess is she didn't like the way I looked. I wasn't much of a great driver on that time and you know...I didn't know which side was left and which was right...(I use the term Driver-Passenger side instead of Left-Right side...I find it easier lol)
So the fact that I didn't turn on the right side didn't help at all. Plus I made numerous mistakes.
Well I failed miserably

Angry, I decided to give up but took the test 7 months later. I passed this time. The only wrong thing I did was swearing too much at the end, during the parking haha.
But then again...I'm still a really bad driver haha.

I barely passed the first time. Permit was just written only. For the driving test to qualify for my intermediate driver's license (for before you are 18), I got a 80/100 which is right on the nose for passing. Guy probably gave me a break. I think the one I screwed up and still never got down was backing around a corner...but who the heck does that or when does that ever happen?

Passed my theory first go despite it being a load of BS. That **** interactive movie where you have to touch the screen for any issues you see is a load of crap. Hit it too early? Lose a point. Hit it too late? Lose a point!

If i see a dude walking along the road from far away and i point it out why do i lose a **** point. You're supposed to look down the road and be aware.

I failed my actual test like 3 times before i got a pass. But it's a lot harder than the one you take in America. Costs a lot more too.

I failed my driving test the first time, and it was for a totally bogus reason.

We were driving along just fine, no biggie. We were in the home stretch, pretty much just had to make it back to the DMV office, which is downtown in the small town I lived in. The stoplights don't have turn arrows, so you had to yield on green when making a turn. Well, the light turns green and I proceed forward into the intersection to turn left, when a man pushing an ice cream cart walks into the crosswalk I was going to turn towards. Now, this is legal on his part, but he was taking forever, and technically the crosswalk has to be clear in order for me to turn. So we are sitting there, oncoming traffic that I have to wait for anyways are moving through. There was a gap that would have been unsafe for me to attempt to squeeze between, and besides, the ice cream man hadn't reached the curb, so I stayed put. The tester says "go ahead", I looked and stuck with my decision that it would have been unsafe, and then she shouts "GO!!", and I still didn't move.

She failed me for blocking an intersection and impeding traffic.

*facepalm*

...mine took 10 minutes and I just had to back out of a parking spot, drive around for a minute, change lanes, then park :?
Probably explains why everyone here is terrible at driving

Ya, I was impatient like your instructor once. My first accident happened at one of those lights without the protected turn. Was going to be late to school. Light went yellow so I figured I had to get turning. Lady in the oncoming lane sped up a little to get through the yellow light and bam! Best to be patient at lights like that and wait until all pedestrians are across the crosswalk or all traffic coming from the other direction has stopped. No point in rushing if it causes an accident.

I swear they fail some people just their percentages look good..... But I don't know, stopping on the white line seemed a little minor to fail me. Especially when the light was in a construction zone.

i passed the driving part and i was happy.
my friend passed the driving potion by EXACTLY 1 point.

my other female friend got pulled over by a cop during her driving test. luckily the officer just gave her a warning since she was new.
from what she told me, she got out, made an illegal lane change, got pulled over. then went back to DMV.

i passed the written part by exactly 1 point HA.
