I think the whole Squeal of Fortune thing should just be taken out of the game.
You can get rare items, money, and xp just by doing nothing.
Does Jagex support lazy people now?

It's still gambling. I'm pretty sure you can buy scratch cards that guarantee you win something everytime. Course it's usually a £5 card and you usually only win £1 or £2 out of it. Still legally only allowed to sell them to people 16+ in the UK as it's still classed as gambling. I think at least. I might be making it up I don't buy scratch cards tbh though I'm fairly sure I've seen it.

EITHER way it's still gambling. Your buying a spin and hoping to get X out of it. It's just instead of getting nothing you get 50gp. Which might as well be nothing.

Someone also raised the interesting point that they nerfed effigys a while ago claiming they broke the game? Well this new update gives players just as much exp if not more. Funny that. It's ok now your paying them for it. :-%

Here's the bottom line: Real World Trading in-game is bad unless Jagex can control it and collect the money, plain and simple. That's why Jagex is doing this.

The more I think about, the more it seems like Jagex is out to make a buck (or pound) as opposed to improving the game and letting the players work hard to earn their own way. It's complete and utter crap that it has come to this. I wouldn't be surprised if someone went ahead and sued Jagex for not having an online gambling license for this little stunt.

So, at what point does the game become unenjoyable anymore because of stupid actions like this? Believe me, this isn't the last time Jagex will do something like this. I guarantee that they will release one thing (if not more than one) during this year that makes them money in return for exp or whatever.

I had a feeling something like this was coming. Jagex is just slowly walking the plank onto the boat of corporate scum that only gives a **** about money.

Now that we've picked apart a small fraction of the entire update, how does anyone else feel about say, the new monster drop tokens? Or the chance at winning 2 free spins? Or how you can get free tickets from distractions and diversion events?

I'm fine with receiving spins from in game content, but buying spins is ridiculous and should be removed IMO. It's RWT and gambling (sometimes underage, which can be illegal), no matter how Jagex tries to defend it, not to mention it gives people who have money advantages over others since 75 spins guarantees 100-200k exp.

Not to mention the Hack risk with this... $200 is a lot of money to those who are not well-advanced. The free spins options are nice, but just get rid of the pay for spins options before we hear about Runescape players having to live on the street.

Suomi is just sad, he cries if he makes a single missclick because it is "a waste of xp." He made a post when the toolbelt was released about not being able to make 1 of something without the "make x" interface appearing, he calls it " a waste of precious, precious ticks" that is **** sad, and I have heard that he has gotten $1k in donations so far and is spending it on squeal wheel.

If you watch his videos you'll know that he is completely joking about the "xp wastes" and he doesn't mind one way or another. As for the donations, he put up a video asking for donations towards the squeal wheel but many people didn't realize it was a joke and he received lots of hate for it. He hasn't bought any spins and says he doesn't plan on it.

I don't think he was joking. I got no feeling that he was joking from that video. Probably said it was cause he realized he looked like a tool.

Well even if he was joking he certainly hasn't purchased any spins, that I am sure of.

Considering only the xp lamps where you get to choose the skill, it is twice as efficient to spend your time working a minimum wage job in Ontario and buying spins to train runecrafting than it is to actually train it at the fastest xp rate. And that's not including what you get besides those lamps...
In that sense it's not gambling. You get your moneys worth. Wait, hold on. They think it's okay that it's not gambling because it's more efficient to buy spins than actually grind out your experience? What?

I don't think suomi was joking in that vid but it doesn't really matter. If they're going to be putting this kind of stuff in the game, why shouldn't he be able to use it? Why shouldn't he be able to ask for donations? You don't get to the top buy not taking advantage of the most efficient ways to train. It was Jagex who made the update, not him.

It's like the people who want to win skotm, but don't want to use the most efficient training method since they don't like it. If you want to win a combat skotm without Pest Control (is that even fast anymore? XD) then you better put a lot more hours in than the people who will. Criticize the minigame, don't cry about being disadvantaged by your own choice though.

Although I remember when xxx neo xxx7 got the first 200m xp (fletching) since all it seems he did was make bows and alch them, he threw a fit about never training magic again since they ruined it by capping his fletching xp and then decided that he was going to be the first to a second 200m and it would be firemaking. And then he asked for donations of yew and magics only. XD And then I saw him firemaking in Port Physmatys. That's all I know about it but it looks like he eventually gave up. Anyways I thought that was pretty lame - that he was getting big xp but relying on other people's donations. But still, I think the situations are different. Jagex made it so that your wealth outside of RS plays a big part to your status in "game" and how you can "play" - by their own hands. If it's going to be like that you mightaswell get donations for it, not like it means anything anymore.
