We have received reports of performance issues from players of Batman: Arkham City on PC. After researching the matter, we found that running the game with DX 11 is causing the performance issues. We’re working on a title update to address this matter and expect to make it available in the near future.

In the meantime, a workaround for this issue is to run the game with DX 9 instead of DX 11. Instructions on how to turn off DX 11 are listed below.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience

so game was released for consoles in october with pc being delayed. okay not new.

they tell us that it will be epic and it will be worth playing on pc. okay well we're used to it, just get it right.

we're pushing you guys back another 2 weeks. okay, well get it fixed.

well game is out, but now you cannot play it because the game doesn't work with DX11.

great way to give us the used end of the **** stick...

Hardly screwed really. It's just you bought it on the wrong platform. The combat in that game isn't too great on a console can't imagine how poor it would be using a keyboard. Need a thumb stick to bounce around with some flexibility surely? Even then it's not always 100% accurate.

Either way it's not anywhere near as good as the first one so i wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Should never of gone open world.

people on there are complaining about freezes and crashes. this is completely *******.

what did they not do this whole month? did they just look at pictures of catwoman that was posted on their wall the whole time?

no patch on day 1, no fix except "make it DX9". still low framerate.

this basically killed any hope of me buying the game.

I had a crash on my first launch.

But, after that, it seems to run fine. I haven't had many issues, though I've only played ~1 hour or so. Physx support is kind of a BS technology since only Nvidia benefits, and honestly the game looks pretty good without it. While I expect a few patches from the publishers and graphics driver companies, it's honestly not all that bad. Plus, PC users get the Catwoman DLC for free, as it is just part of the game on the PC. Ha ha @ consoles.

However, since it was a GFWL (Games for Windows Live) game, I had to wait for release day to start the download.. Then launch, authenticate on Steam, authenticate on GFWL, then be allowed to play the game. Apparently it also contains SecureROM, which is highly stupid since it's already got Steamworks integration as it does have Steam and GFWL achievements.

Catwoman DLC is in the console version for free if you buy it brand new.

If you buy it used you have to purchase it. It's a console version of secureROM but not as *******.

I rather liked playing as her pity there wasn't many missions.

****. Developers really need to work on their PC platform products. I agree with trekkie that this is absurd. Something like this should have been solved well before the original release date. Pretty pathetic.

One of the issues is that developers don't get the games out to NVIDIA and AMD for better drivers at launch day. If they got their games done months ahead of release dates, sent out final copies to AMD and NVIDIA, many of the issues that get fixed at their end within ~2--14 days post-release could be handled as the consumer is installing the game. If possible, include that better optimized driver bundle with the game, then people wouldn't even have to go out to NVIDIA or AMD's site to get the up-to-date drivers that work better with their newly acquired game.

Figured this was relevent;

http://www.gameplanet.co.nz/news/138269 ... y-to-see-PC-release/

That's one less publisher you have to worry about. I don't think you'll be seeing many games coming out from them on the PC.

The unfortunate reality is you're not as important as the 60-80million odd PS3/360 users. So you'll have to put up with what you get you sadly don't generate as much money.

another zombie apocalypses. it won't last.

and quit honestly, when will they also realize that console people pirate as well, albeit a lot less since many of them are not smart enough to flash stick a memory card into their wii.
