It may be inefficient, but I think it's a good model of how Jagex intended for the game to be played. If there were no bots, I'd do it more like that, too.
No, the game was not created with any intent on how training would be. They way it was intended was that players would choose how they would play. You would choose your play style, you would choose the skills you train, you would choose the levels you get. If they intended the game to be played like that, there wouldn't be things like mining ore in rimmington, walking to falador to smelt it, walking to Varrock to smith it into armour, and then walking back to Rimmington- it would be A LOT more efficient then that. Maybe since you couldn't bank items at the start... but that's more like they didn't intend for training at all. Which the previous example is kind of about. Doesn't look like they intended skills be trained on the scale that they are in the first place, even if you choose to go it inefficient style. Not to mention resources wouldn't have been tradeable from the start. Had it been intended to train inefficiently.
Just because there are ores you can mine to get mining levels that you can then smith to get smithing levels does not mean it was intended you do both. To get armour you need smithing. To smith you need ore. For ore you need mining. They are there because one is necessary for the other, it doesn't show any intent how they want you to play the game.
Anyways I have love for bots right now because I just did a dungeon. While I was dreading it before beginning, it wasn't so bad. 50K xp on like floor 31 in 25 minutes because 3 of the people in the group were bots doing everything (dieing often too lmao). That's pretty awesome. Lol two of them had 120 dg too and one 200M xp so it's kind of interesting. The whole DG was pretty confusing until realizing they were probably bots lmao.
