Multitasking

Hey Guys

I like multitasking alot. Usually when I'm on Rs I'm either doing Homework, On Forums, mIRC, Facebook, My Email and several other things at once. Was wondering if you guys multi tasked and what you did during your time

I do this alot, most of the time I have Runescape open with Ventrilo as my clan uses it for communication, or Skype to talk to friends. I may also watch youtube videos while training combat skills at armoured zombies.

Oh yea I also have Vent & YouTube open too

But I can't do that anymore seeing as I'm using a netbook and YouTube (Flash) lag's me like helllll.

There is NEVER a moment on RS were i don't have another window open and being viewed.

I find it hard to be on Runescape playing and doing other things at the same time. I mean, I get distracted a lot while playing Runescape if that's what your talking about. But if I want to play Runescape, I usually have to focus on just it to get anything done.

If I'm grinding out a 99 i make sure i have films/tv shows to catch up on.

At one point last year i was playing WOW and RS at the same time. :lol:

I'd start fishing and just flip back to WOW and continue on with whatever quest I was doing...not the BEST way to train in RS cause you do forget on occasion to check your character.

Haha I've actually done that before with GTA: Vice City. I remember back in 2007 I'd woodcutt then flip back to GTA and once I died because a dark wizard killed me while I had Runescape minimized. Incidently today while I was @ frost dragons was watching YouTube and when I flipped back I was dead. Meh got my stuff back but yeah, I usually die alot during combat which Is why I put it on hold for almost 2 Years!

depends on what I'm doing if I multi-task or not. Mining, fishing, wc, dung, and cooking I do, everything else, I don't

Haha, oh dear.

I find nowadays I rarely truly multitask as I don't tend to do anything monotonous enough, though always have chat windows open and can occasionally be watching videos or doing general browsing. I wouldn't call it proper multitasking any more as having two monitors is cheating a bit... Ironically combat (slayer) seems most multitaskable (read tedious) to me, but then one must also worry about not dying, so I dunno. XD

When I ground woodcutting to 99 I actually did get through that by playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted simultaneously

but that was a PS2 game and so RS was always right in front of me anyway. Since then, I've not needed anything that substantial to take my mind off the game.

Why I love fishing and only go on Runescape to fish: I can multitask like crazy, whether it be doing homework, browsing some random sites, or being afk too.

Usually when I scape I'm also on forum sites or Facebook. Almost always watching tv or movies as well. And when I'm not watching tv or movies I am always listening to music and messing about in Itunes while I scape.

Here's my typical setup, MSN is linked to Facebook chat and Skype is open, as you can see. Yes, the ratio is messed up.

having 2 screens is awesome. one for rs, the other for everything else. i remember many years ago, runehq had an article on "multitasking"... the most useless article in history. but when i commented that it was a pointless article, the evil weezy said it was a good article and should stay.

I usually multi task too much for my own good.
I'll have RS open doing a skill of some sort, then I'll have tabs with Facebook, YouTube, and a few forums I post on. Then I'll have iTunes, Steam and MSN open too.
Sometimes it gets quite frustrating when I realise how much I have to do. And I have to just stop everything and take a break.
