Are secondary account's pointless?

Hey Guys,

Jeki here

So about a few years I created an account and have been playing on it On & Off for the past few years. But around last year I created another account which I deemed as my "pure F2p" but it didn't work out and I made it mems. I randomly decided to get 99 Mining/Smithing one of my favorite skills in game. I finally achieved these goals within two months but as I continued to train this secondary account I questioned myself: Is it really worth training this secondary account? For one I'd have to get 99 Mining/Smith again (which I wouldn't mind) but it's just more time I have to put into the game

But on the other hand I find it fun to train both accounts but I feel obligated to train my main account.

I was wondering how you guys all felt about it

If you actually enjoy runescape and having two or three or more accounts will enhance that experience, I don't see why it's pointless. It's pointless if you feel you have to have an account with the best skill levels and wealth possible but if you only play to have a good account then playing in the first place is pointless.
Personally I feel there is nothing different from getting 99s on a secondary account then getting it on my main. Well I guess it depends the circumstances in that case but I don't desire to have one skill high with another low (e.g. 99 range, 10 constituty).

If having multiple accounts will make you play 18 hours a day, maybe it's something you shouldn't be doing, though. XD Still not pointless in that case.

I never thought making extra accounts was any good. I personally like playing one main and putting all my work into one character. But being that free trade is coming back and that you can give money and items between characters, it can't hurt as much anymore and would probably be beneficial to have multiple accounts more so than in the past.

Putting money from one account to another that you own was against the rules prior to removing trade so I imagine it will be once again though.

Don't know why that is against the rules. It's your account, money you earned. Gold farming and giving to someone else might be one thing, but between your own accounts? Seems like a dumb rule. And there are loopholes to get around it.

In general, yes, I think secondaries are pointless. However, if I get completely bored, I will hop on over to my f2p skiller and fish for a while, since I kind of miss the simpler times. I figure that I might as well get the experience on my main account.

If you mean loop holes as in not directly trading both accounts, it was still against the rules no matter how you did it.. If you had items on one account that you got rid of them with the intent that they will end up on another one of your accounts for free, your were breaking the rules. That's not to say no one did it and anyone ever got punished for it.

I don't like having 2 accounts because I feel I spent to much time on the first one, and I don't want to the work again.

I never saw the point of putting my energy into a second account. It would interesting to get that 'just starting' feeling again but I think it would pass quickly the first time I wanted to get somewhere quickly.

I personally feel like they are pointless, but it may seem worth it to some people to have a skiller account and a combat pure account.

To me they are pointless, why not just have one amazing main account.

Unless you use them at the same time to make money, or use the new account to PK, then they are pointless. It's fun to level up really fast, but once you get to level 50 or so, it's just more grinding.

I agree, as someone said above it's your accounts therefore it's your money. You should be able to move cash between accounts because you spent time working on those accounts. On the other hand I know that it sounds like gold farming but it really isn't because you're personally making the money, not paying for it. Another thing I would like to point out is that I don't think it would really affect the market at all.

Depends on what you mean with secondary account. As a secondary main, I'd say it's pointless. But if it's a pure second to a main maxed account, then I can't see anything wrong with it. They would serve different purposes.

Oh well yeah, I meant like a secondary main account. All stats trained except it's Combat is low @ 94 and the bad thing is that I got so into that account I got one of my favorite 99s on that one and another favorite 99 on my main, so now ill have to get 99 mining on my main (which will be fun

) but tiring.
