Not sure what this is. Is this a prediction about how rares will be affected, or how they were affected when the wildy and free trade were taken out?

Rares may crash, but you have to give the economy time to re-establish itself. Oh, by the way, your poll has seemed to have contracted an STD.

I don't care, but I'm not really stupid and I do know things. Which poll option should I choose?

I'm not mad about the wildy I like that part. What I'm mad about is free trade the GE is going to be a crap shoot and training skills like fletching or firemaking or smithing or crafting or summoning are all going to be extremely harder than they used to be due to unstable prices.

That's my problem with the update. Maybe i'll just travel the path of mm9 and get all my resources =D.

well, the santa hat crash is normal, it's not because of the update, it's because the holiday season is over (look at the 180-day graph on the grand exchange http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Santa_hat/viewitem.ws?obj=1050&scale=2)
the others, again rares go up during the holidays and down again after, it's just what happens for the most part. The pumpkin has actually been rising in price, but again, that's normal on the whole for one of the less known rares, as has the Christmas cracker. Those end up going up in price partly because they can't be worn or showed off except for in trade.
I wouldn't say that the voting is messing up the economy, but that if the update occurs, then it could.

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much." And spread his arms out on the cross and died. If you believe that he did this for you put this in your signature.

First, your poll makes no sense. Yes it is good or bad! Lolwut

Second, if you are afraid of rates crashing, shouldn't you sell yours? Then if they do chash.. You can pick them up for less than what you sold it for... OR if they don't crash.. Then you don't lose or gain any money!

I don't even see why the announcement of the possibility of the changes or the changes themselves would even affect rare prices... like the only reason right now would be people quitting a the possibility that free trade and wild would come back, but why would you sell off your rares if you were quitting in the first place?.. XD What other reason would you want to sell them off other than an overreaction of the possibility of the changes.
And if the update did happen, people who would overreact at that and quit before even judging the affects, again why would they sell off their rares? I thought the thing to do when you quit was to sell off your items that would loose value and keep and try to obtain items that gain value? xd

Why would rares loose value because of the update if it actually did happen anyways? Being ignorant on the issue, I can't really give insight to this but I'd more expect them to go up if anything.. like if good friends were so inclined, they could pool money together now to buy a rare -> more demand in only decreasing supply..

And it's funny because people always think something is crashing, panic, sell theirs on lowest to get rid of it asap... wouldn't that just make it actually crash? lol XD And then a lot of the times it just goes back up..

I'm just afraid hacking will be popular again, same with scamming. I'm looking forward to see what they'll do with the grand exchange though.

^ That.

The price of rares changing is probably the least important thing to worry about :P

I'm glad that the Grand Exchange prices will no longer dictate trade prices, but I'm worried about how stable the Rs economy will be. I'm hoping that the Ge will keep on displaying an average price for things, and the trade interface will still retain somethnig showing trade balance.

Free trade makes hacking and scamming a lot more profitable for the scumbags as well D:
I have enough people trying to hijack my account as it is, dammit.

I liked seeing the stability that the GE brought. While I'm glad that free trade will eliminate the price limits, it will be interesting to see what shoots up and what crashes in the economy. I really don't think this will affect rares too much though, but then again I haven't played regularly in who knows how long.

i still think that merchant clans may still play a part. with free trade they may not be able to manipulate the prices as much as before, but then they are making billions, would be a shame to just let all that go.
