I recall watching a documentary " China's Disaster " was about an earthquake that hit them a few years ago. and how few hundred thousand kids died. because their schools collapsed. and only the schools did, due to faulting building.
Soo... a hotel in 6 days. They sure did cut a lot of corners. But that's what you get living in a communist country.
First off China can hardly be called communist anymore. It is an economically capitalist state.
Secondly, how would you know what corners they cut or if they cut corners at all?
This is a very impressive industrial feat that reflects on how efficient and powerful China's technology and economy has become. Disasters such as the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan struck hardest at the poorer undeveloped parts of China, which have not been completely modernized. You're essentially taking a hillbilly shack and using it to discredit the architecture and efficiency of China as a whole.
