SOTW

I'll just try to make this a short message - albeit bittersweet:

Based on your comments, we've decided that it would be best at this time to retire the Signature of the Week competition. Obviously not the easiest decision to make but as it seems to be the general consensus among the community that makes it a bit less painful. 245 weeks is a very impressive run, but we feel for now that its time is up.

The SOTW will henceforth be archived within the next couple of days (rather than deleted), so that you can still go back and be nostalgic whenever you feel like it. The SOTW website will stay up in conjunction with this. If it ever happens that the graphics community picks up again then it'll be possible to bring the competition back, but don't count on this happening any time soon. It would still be great to include SOTW in the medals system so I hope you've already gone and contributed that to it - if you have then just ignore me as I haven't been keeping track.

That is all really. If you have any concerns you can stick those here or direct them to me.

Shall add a few specific SOTW medals to zie list now. I like the idea of keeping it. We should do that with more site features that we retire.

This is probably the best decision since there are only a few entrants. I'll always remember those great signatures people have made and voting for them. Well, hope activities pick up again and have SOTW coming back soon.

PS: Too bad I don't know how to make a sig.

I wasn't here really for the "good" days of SOTW. So to me it really doesn't make a differnce
