Plans to build mosque by ground zero

Bit of a joke frankly. And building starts on sept 11th? Lol? Can't be a coincidence can it?

Now I'm tired of hearing about the whining and crying over 9/11 but even i find that to be just..a very bad joke.

Lets hope it gets blocked.

I have to agree with Penn. Of all the places to build a Mosque, that's the spot? Come on, this is just stupid. Sure, it's a free country, but you need to be polite to others and understand why something isn't sociably acceptable like this. Pretty bad joke if that's what it is. I don't think the city will stand for it.

I remember hearing about this a while ago, but I didnt think that it would be actually built.

Why would they build a mosque by ground zero?? Thats supposed to be a memorial for the victims of that awful day. But, if there is no law against it, then they have every right to. Although, with the public outrage (my trans-atlantic outrage included) that springs up, it most likely will not occur. They should pass a bill against it. But in order to do that, they need a majority vote. And i'm sure there are people in the white house that support the idea of a mosque being built (as strange as it seems).

Well, according to what Drudge Report found, this thing passed on a vote of 29-1 (not even close, suprisingly), but it seems like a lot of people are mad about it. Check it out. It's the real thing. :shock:

I'm sure a few deaths here and there wont concern al-qaeda. If they have an "objective they have to reach", then nothing will stop them, not even blowing up their own mosque. Determination always prevails.

I don't think razing a mosque is very religious if you are Muslim. XD I don't think Allah will be too happy.
I don't understand how building a Muslim only community centre builds bridges, rather the opposite? :S
