A man in india by the name of Prahlad jani is claiming that he has lived without food or water for over 74 years. I am definitley sure that this is not humanely possible because, after 3 days without water, the average human body will hallucinate and then dehydration will follow, then death. Doctors are having this man carefully observed to see if his claims are ture or not.

The link to the story is....

Cheers, dafin0

Absolutely impossible. Someone who lives without water for a week would be classed as super-human, and living without food for a month is impressive. Sure, if in a good condition and the environment is good, you could live without food for maybe 10 weeks, but you'd have died of dehydration long ago. Living without either food or water for anything more than a year, let alone 74, is totally and utterly impossible; for humans at least.

even buddha lived on 1 single grain of rice for months. but then again he almost died because of it.
if one of the dieties of eastern religion almost died from not eating, there's no way.

even from a biological point of view, there are soo many vitamins and minerals that you can only get from food that without them you'll die. no oranges, you'll get scury where your cells start to break down and is characterized by bruises on the body and your skin turns slightly blue.

no water, your body will not recycle the water and that water will stay there. without a new influx of water, your kidneys will expire because it cannot keep the blood clean.

i won't rule out the whole mind over body, but even the human mind can do so much.

Same here. Anyways, the story sounds fishy to me. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. I can't imagine this has hardly any truth to it.

Sorry guys . Just got an email from them today, saying that their site is having some trouble, since i've subscribed to them.

Anyways, here is another link i've found that i've visited, and is working. I know the years are different from the "404" link. This link has more detail of the story, unlike the other site you couldnt visit.

I think the standard for water is 3 days and for food is like a month...I've heard of people living off sugar water and vitamins in the hospital for several months though
