So the beta is coming to an end and the actual game is launching oh so soon and I'm wondering how many if any on here are going to buy it? I've been fiddling with it and i rather like it and love all the bits and bobs referencing the show but I'm not completely sold yet.

I figured I'd ask and see how many people on here are going to play it as its all on one server and I'd actually know some people then.

I'm slightly concerned about the state of the game from a technical point. The game is supposed to release this week as you say but it still feels rough in places to me. Also let's remember there was a 10 hour downtime period this weekend.

I went on yesterdayfor there end ofbeta event where the klingons invaded federation space and that was pretty cool to see all those starships flying around Earth..it's just a pity the klingon "invasion" was rather...pitiful, they got blasted to **** the moment they warped in.

I was thinking about buying it, but the membership really has me wondering if I would get my money's worth out of it. The membership is $15 a month, $10 a month with the year plan, or enough with the lifetime plan. It seems like it would be a lot of fun, but the price and time problems are turning me away for now.

Ya, that's how I am, It looks like a really good game but the pricing might be something that brings me away from buying it and getting a different game instead.

Im always hazy about newer MMO's. In truth, Runescape is the only one I have ever played. I have thought about switching to another, but I don't know if I was looking into a futuristic MMO, whether to choose between this and EVE.

I can't say I blame you about being hazy. I used a trial for EVE, and I really didn't find it that great for how much it was. STO, on the other hand, has been quite hyped up, and the demos that I've seen looked really good.
I just wish that MMO games would steer away from the higher membership costs, because the $15 per month AFTER buying the game itself really turned a few people (including me) off.

Yeah I mean you buy WoW from the store for $30 and then pay an extra 15 a month to play... I don't want more games like that.

Meh. Not much of a Star Trek guy. Plus, I already spend too much time playing other games. Bad excuse, maybe, but it's the way it is.

$15 is the standard. Runescape is the exception. Because Jagex are British and thus not greedy money hungry pigs. But you should get used to that price if you want to play a mainstream MMO.

I heard this game sold a million + now so it should have a lot of players on it...personally I've held off buying it when i heard they was selling races on the store..and seeing them selling content on there other game champions online which IMO should be free because we're paying monthly.

So I'm waiting to see. I like it but I'm not paying out the nose for it. Take the monthly subscription Cryptic and be happy with it not many MMO's make it to a million.

After one to many last night i bought this when i got in last night. XD I'm blaming drink and that's the story i plan to stick to. And not my weak mindedness.

No regrets so far i suppose, made lieutenant. Love the NPC squad mates, love the instant grouping so i don't have to bother looking myself, love spoke talking to me as i cruise in my ship. I also love the funny starship names/guys who take it far to seriously (im looking at you mr grandson of worf/thatwomanindeepspaceninewiththefunnynose) it's good.
