Right now, it's looking pretty good. I just installed it. I really like the persona idea. Kinda makes web surfing more enjoyable. Also, the plugin check can come in handy if you aren't someone who normally stays up to date on all the plugins. All in all, looks like a good improvement. I'd suggest upgrading if you haven't already. 8)

The whole persona thing was overflaunted. I'm using the NASA Night launch theme, and I think quite a few others use a non-persona browser theme as well.

Yeah, sounds like it's more of a gimmick to steal some of IE's lesser informed users. I haven't upgraded yet as I've heard that many extensions have compatibility issues (including Glasser which is a dealbreaker) but on the whole it looks like a decent release.

If the addons you like don't work, try the Nightly Tester Tools to overcome the compatibility issues. Might as well for a bit, then turn it off if everything works again.

I doubt that themes will slow down Firefox much, as it is loaded once and doesn't have to do anything in the background. Any addons will slow the browser down, so as a general rule, keep those to a minimum.

I haven't seen a slowdown using themes, but I have a theme going all the time so I could have it and not even notice it. There is one thing I have noticed with Firefox 3.6 when I am playing Runescape. When I am posting on the forums, Runescape slows down sooooooo badly, lagging a lot. Not sure if it is something to do with Firefox 3.6 or just my computer, but I never noticed it with the old version of Firefox.
