There was a small survey done in the US of who calls it soda and who calls it pop.

Most people living in the west coast, southwest, or south called it soda.
Most people in the north, northeast, and east coast called it pop.

Mountain Dew is widely available in Canada?

I don't know what I call it more, whatever comes to mind. Given only those two options, I would refer to as soda, though.

My favourite one is iced tea, if that would count as one :S

Regarding fizzy or flat, either or... though I do like the taste cola takes on when it goes flat.

Indeed it is, though it's not as popular as many other brands.

Here in BC i've never heard it called anything other than pop, except most do refer to the specific brands.

I personally like Coke or Orange (C Plus, Crush, whatever) although it's all good. I try not to have too much though. :P

Pop
I don't drink it much except from friends getting some and giving me some, coke is my favourite but I'll drink most things except for cream soda type flavours.

Well...let me think:
1. It depends on the day, but I think I call it pop most the time (but I usually don't pay that much attention to what I call it).

2. Favorite is probably Coca-Cola. Canada Dry is a close second.

3. I like it fizzy more than flat. I will take it either way, but fizzy is much better.

P.S. I once got a Coca-Cola out of a vending machine and noticed the data on it was a year past expiration. I figured I'd give it a shot and it tasted amazing. I think aged soda may much better than fresh soda, but I'm not sure. Also, soda like Coca-Cola is much better in a glass bottle or cup than out of the can or plastic. I don't know why, though. Could be just me. :P

Really? When I tasted a Pepsi that was over a year past it's expiration date it tasted like vinegar. :?

Oh ya, mine tasted excellent. Maybe it was just an older formula, but it definitely tasted much better than a regular Coke can. See, sodas are made mostly of sugar and sugar doesn't go bad that fast (or so I'm told). Regardless, I definitely wish they used older and tastier formulas than they do now. I actually heard from a friend who works at Walmart that Pepsi is actually selling a throwback formula in store right now.

Pepsi Throwback

I think Coca-Cola should follow suit. If they used an older formula, I'd be all over it and drink it everyday (although I do drink Coke pretty much everyday already. :P )

I just lost the game >.>.

I call it soda. My favorite soda is Squirt and I like it fizzy. I don't really drink soda too often though.

I call mine pop, just used to it I guess. I like Root Beer the best, followed by Pepsi. And I like a little fizzy, not so much though. But if it isn't fizzy then I guess they'll be too sweet.

I call it soda. My favorites are Sparky's Root beer, Guaraná Antartica, and one called H2OH!(it's a lemon-lime drink from Brazil, I've never seen it anywhere else...) in that order.
edit: I like it fizzy

I call it pop. My favorite pop is Pepsi. I used to prefer flat, warm pop when I was younger, but now I like it cold and fizzy.

Soft drink or more colloquially, fizzy drink, is typically what we New Zealanders call it. Never pop, perhaps occasionally but very rarely soda?

I'm not really a big fan of anything in particular - well any soft drink is nice as far as I'm concerned, but I would only drink them if they were given to me, otherwise there are healthier options. If I had to choose I'd go with a New Zealand one called L&P.
