15th July 2009 - PvP World Changes

Players who enter a PvP or Bounty World will now automatically become skulled and unable to use the Protect Item prayer. The skull will not disappear over time or when a player dies, unless they go to a non-PvP world, in which case the skull behaves like normal. Note that this means you will always lose everything you are carrying if you get killed by another player, and that there is no way for you to keep any items on death while in a PvP or Bounty World.

Additionally, on members’ worlds, your victims must now lose at least 75,000 coins’ worth of items (increased from 25,000) for your earning potential to be applied to the drop. On free-to-play worlds, the amount the victim must lose remains at 25,000 coins.

Please note that you will have to be in a safe area before you can next log into a PvP or Bounty World. You will need to log into a non-PvP/Bounty World in order to move to a safe area. This is to ensure nobody logs in risking more than they are aware of. A message will explain this on login if you try to enter these worlds. This only applies to your next PvP/Bounty World login; from then on, you will be able to log in as normal.

It's amazing. They nerfed pvp to kill 26king, but what happens is they killed everything except 26king itself.

**** real pking, I'm gonna start 76k tricking till members runs out now.

Although it didn't clear whole cheating issue in PvP it did improve PvP in overall. When risks were all gone PKers became noobier (what a word

) and pvp vids with people pking with partyhats were as boring as hell.

I beg to differ. I'm seeing a rise of pjers again. Lots of void dbowers and bandos clawers because everyone pks with d scim now.

d scim = lower hits = eating at lower hp = EASIER PJING

Not to mention that 26k is not dead, just 50k less profitable.

Oh but, whips, Dragon Claws, Godswords, etc., those are gonna crash hardcore.

I'll have to go with a 1/5 on this one. :shock:

Shocking, I know. It just doesn't seem right that you should be automatically skulled when going into worlds. Then again, this will keep people honest so now if they ever enter a world like the ones mentioned above, they will know that they can now possibly lose everything. :twisted:

I didn't risk anything when I pk with max mage gear with karils in inventory with brews and restores as food. Makes perfect sense.

I like this update actually now people will stop that stupid "pvp trick". I think that was wrong to do it's like cheating yourself of the runescape exprience. The point is to work for the money not fine ways to cheat and get the money.

I love this update, wasn't even attacked once!

yeps im not risking my 86m weapon, meant to be used in pvp, anymore so i figured i'll stop pking the real way and start 76king.

I don't really mind this update. I don't pk and I sold all my high-valued weapons over the past month.

What I do wonder is why don't they alter the drop table? Let the value of the drop rate range between 75% and 125% of the targets lost wealth? That should make pking fair for everyone.
