Runescape commercials?

Do you think there will ever be Runescape commercials? I think that those Runescape trailers are the first step to a commercial being made. What do you guys think?

I think because Runescape is played by tons of people, that is their best advertising piece. If players go out and tell other people about the game, the word gets widely spread. I don't think Runescape will start advertising. I think they are pretty comfortable with the following they already have. :mrgreen:

Never thought about this concept and can't see why they aren't commercializing it nationally, but maybe they are through websites and such. It would be interesting to see a tv commercial for it too

They have the money to do it...

Yeah they already got enough people paying for membership and there are many that tells others about this game, so that's advertising already. Can't see them spend money doing commercials though.

I wouldn't think they would do it. It's a waste of money. Especially when thousands of players are telling their friends about runescape.

WoW has triple the cost per month and more members.
they have much more money to blow off on advertisement.

I don't think they will have actual commercials but they may have adverts. The reason is they have never had a commercial other than the short videos they made on Youtube so why start now?

i can see them doing this because of world of warcraft advertising. WoW has few commercials and they advertise on mountain dew bottles.

Yeah, i see what you mean,and now that i think about it, there's really no reason to make any commercials right now

Wow has less players than runescape and runescape is a browser so they post adverts on free to play players scree. And they make moey from that too. And Jagex also has adverts all over the website.

runescape has more players.
WoW has more subscribed players.
see what i'm saying? Not every player in runescape is paying for a membership.

It's possible but many people no about runescape through friends or family. Jagex I think is pretty comfortable with what they have right now.

It would be simple all they would have to do is tell them how many quests and oppurtunities people can do for free. People will become curious, get hooked and pay for members.
