When Item Lending Goes.. Bad...!

I was taking a shower and thought about this.
When I'm about to log off of runescape sometimes I'll go to a free world and see if anybody wants to borrow my Green H'Mask. Because I'm a nice guy, spread the love. lol anyway, It's only for an hour, what do I care, I'll be away anyway.

Now what If, somebody found a glitched in the Lending system and they found a way to be able to keep an item that someone lend to them. I thought about this and started freaking out.

" that's my mask" " Omg, omg, omg," and stuff like that.

Now if this ever did happend I would think there would be no way to get it back. I would complain to Jagex of course but How would they have proof that it was mine in the first place. I don't take down the names of people I lend item's to for an hour while I'm gone.

So being a paranoid boy that I am, I have not lend my mask for awhile.
But thinking that Item lending has been out for awhile and that if this was a real problem that Jagex should have been able to fix it by now.

If this did happen before which I do not know of, and say Jagex did fix the problem, then the people who did lost their items won't be able to get them back I wouldn't think. Just let us suffer right?

the scammers always end up ahead of the game... its annoying but what can we do?

I don't think Jagex would miss anything, but if an error was found and exploited, they might do a roll back to before the glitch was discovered.

However, it is a very desperate move and ***** tons of people off who played during the period that is undone, and Jagex probably wouldn't do it unless the situation was way out of hand.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about lending your mask to strangers.

If it was a big glitch and loads of people did it then I would suggest a rollback.
But, if it was only with one person I would check the chat logs of the two people.

Worse things have happened in the past, duplicate glitch once upon a time with several people making lots of PHATs, It's not likely but i wouldn't rule it out.

I wouldn't worry about you not getting your mask back. It is more likely that the person could just duplicate the item then him simply keeping yours.

since before item lending even came out, people have been trying to find ways to scam items off people. preventing it has been the sole concern of the system. grow up and out of your irrational fears. worst case scenario: you do lose it, but what does it matter? its a mask. it serves no purpose other than making you feel special on a video game. false confidence. Id feel sorrier for the moron that sunk so low as to steal pixels from another player.

The scam never worked...

It's either the other person get yours item but also you get it back as well. There is no way where the owner to lose the item but it was possible for the other person to get the item before, but the glitch has now been stop and there's nothing to worry about, i alway lend my dragon claws when im not online soo people can try it out and have fun with it.

Runescape won't scam you :p enjoy playing it and use the system sensiblely.

Oh and By the way. When I was saying stuff like " Omg, Omg, Omg " I was Exaggerating. But I would be really upset, yeah it's just pixels but that's like saying " Oh no, I lost $100 bucks! Oh well it's just paper "

I know what you mean, saving up that much money takes a really long time. If someone just stole that item away from me I would be ***** off. But I don't think it will happen becuase no bugs have been founding with item lending thus far.

Conspired to make item lending go away? Wouldn't they just simply remove the lend item option? Doesn't seem like much of a conspiricy in my opinion.

I've had similar thoughts about lending out my rune (G) platebody, though a h'ween mask would obviously be harder to replace.

Well you should lend them for like 5k per hour, you could really make lots in a month time. Even if you do lose it, you should make almost enough back to pay for it .

But I don't think there would be a glitch where you would lose your lent item...hopefully.

Seeing as it took them a while to develop the whole Lending System after it was first mentioned in the State of Play (remember those?! ), I'm sure this was taken into consideration so that it would be impossible to exploit.

If it did happen however, they would probably just roll back to the previous days back up. That actually happened to me once. I logged on and my 2 firemaking levels that I got the day before were gone. I had all my logs though so idk.
