How pathetic is it when the music industry removes their client's officially uploaded videos from YouTube?
Image

I was looking up some information on DragonForce, and I was planning on watching a few of their music videos. Doesn't look like that can happen now, since Warner felt it necessary to remove their client's videos from YouTube, the very ones featured on DragonForce's YouTube channel as well as embedded in their official website. Just thought it's yet another nail in the coffin for the music industry's deathgrip on their old technology and practices..

Here's the picture on Digg if you'd like to digg it.

How the stupid industry works, the artist doesn't own the music the label does. I'll just keep pirating away, it's idiotic to ban it on youtube for every video they remove 2 more get put up in place anyway.

Kinda semi-related. You can't watch some music videos on youtube from the UK that were uploaded by record companies anymore.

Kind of pathetic. I don't understand why they don't want free advertising. By watching music videos in an unrestricted way, people can discover new music and artists that would have remained hidden to them. I don't think YouTube is too out of it's right to want to gain a profit from the arrangement, they are after all paying for the bandwidth as well as the novelty of being able to watch it on YouTube.

I just wish that these greedy music companies didn't care and just left the videos online. Sometimes I just want to look up and listen to a song once in a while. But when they remove the video, it gets hard to fine. I hope these companies change their minds someday and leave videos on there for everyone to see and listen to. [-o<

removing videos made by fans because they don't have copyright is absurd. This was not the point of Youtube. I know a guy that made music videos that took him forever to do and they got taken down for the same reason.

It's free advertisement.
I see no gain from deleting them.
nigahiga, #2 most subscribed, had a video with millions of views and was deleted because of the song.
It's very stupidddd.

Actually, there is one exception I have in mind...

If they remove Girlfriend by Avril Lavign from youtube, that would be alright. I don't like that song and it shouldn't be included as one of the top videos. [-X [-(

Really pathetic.

Also affects people who add background music to their videos, it just gets muted and you have to use "audio replacement", which has crap music, or allow your video to be taken down.

It's your fault for supporting a band that sucks...

And when it comes down to it... There's a magical item out there called money... That's what the music industry wants... People just watching videos online does not make them money lol...
