I also found out from my friend today best place to mine iron ore is Yanille because of the bank and many rocks. I don't mine there but my friend does so i don't know if it is a very good spot.

He's doing it in f2p and yanille is in p2p.

I'd stick with iron the whole way to 85 because from what i remember the mining guilds always full of people and coal just takes forever to get compared to iron and your not bothered about making money so why bother wasting extra time getting the coal because not only does it take longer to extract for the rock but you'll also need to spend the extra time banking the ores.
So since it seems like you want speed rather than anything else just stick with the iron like most other people have said.

The thing is that I'm fine with making a profit. Time is my main concern. Sometimes I want to go fast and sometimes I want to take it slow. Just depends on how I'm feeling. At the start of the topic, I was looking for speed over profit.

As for the other thing you said, I think It would take the same amount of time to mine iron and drop it to level 85 as it would to say do iron to 80 and coal to 85 with or without banking or a different combination of the two. Iron is 15 less exp than coal and the time it would take to bank the coal might make up for the time it would take to mine that much iron and drop it as well. If it takes less time to mine coal than iron even when banking, then I might as well bank and make the profit. I'm not saying you couldn't powermine iron all the way to 85, but it may end up being a slower rather than faster method if you look at it. Iin the end it's all about what the person going for 85 mining wants to do. Everybody is different and likes better methods than others. I change my mind sometimes on what I want to do and that makes it a little harder for you guys to give me advice since different ways sound good to me for different reasons. All this causes me to do is to slow down and look at different methods and once I figure out which one I like best, than I'll get to it at my own pace. And as for the mining guild, there are plenty of worlds and servers to look through to find a generally empty mining guild somewhere. I don't think it's usually that crowded most places, but I see what you mean about that being a hassle rather than just doing iron. But sometimes people come to challenge you at iron spots, too. So both methods have slight problems that need to be overcome. But thanks for the advice. Powermining iron looks like a favorable option here.

Just experiment a little with all the different suggestions and i'm sure you'll find a mixture that your happy with.
Like you've said, it just depends on how your feeling at the time and its good to see that your actually trying to do it in way they you'll enjoy instead of just going for they way that'll be fastest.
Let us know if you find a good mix and gl with the mining.

I agree with Gareth. Take a day or two to find all the mining spots and test which one is better. You don't need to have one near the bank because you can easily drop it. I would start with Al Kahrid but you can start with whatever mining spot you choose.
