Has anyone bothered to see this yet? It's not action packed, fast paced guns blazing crazyness so i suppose it's not everyones thing but it's one of the best films I've seen in a while.

It's definitly one of Clint Eastwoods best films, guys getting on a bit now so if this is the last film hes in hes definitly ended on a high note i think. If you're capable of sitting through a film without drifting off because theres not mass shoot outs every five minutes i recommend looking into it.

What about you, did you like it? Seen it? Didn't like? Not interested? Why?

Yeah i loved it, mostly for the fact he has 1000 names for Asian people. Great story line and Eastwood is always great.

Looking to see it very soon, TV trailer looked awesome. How anyone can only enjoy films with blood splattering all over the place is beyond me though.

Clint Eastwood is awesome, hope this lives up to expectations.

I'm not into the huge action movies at all, I'm much more driven to story, but this movie definitely missed the mark for me. First of all, his "transformation" went by way too fast. One minute he hates his neighbours guts, the next he's having dinner at their house. I don't remember the details exactly of the rest of the movie (I found it really boring, not because it wasn't all BANG BANG BOOM, but because I felt that it was ultimately going nowhere),
Spoiler for ending:

but the ending was also a huge disappointment. I would have liked to see him at least go down fighting, instead of waving his finger around like a little sissy.

Anyway, wasn't a movie for me. It just wasn't interesting. And believe me, I'll sit through the most uneventful movies imaginable if it has a good story to tell.

Spoiler for story:

He went over to his neighbours house because it was his birthday, he didn't have any beer left, and he had only eaten some crappy food. He became attached to Sue after he helped her with the black guys earlier on, and she convinced him to go over. After he goes over Tao's mother forces him to work for Walt, where Walt begins to become attached to the kid, toughens him up, gets him a job, looks out for him.

Spoiler for ending:

How was the ending a disappointment? He didn't go in shooting because he had killed enough during the wars, he didn't want to do anything, he was at peace. He went over ultimately intending to be killed, because he knew the priest would get in contact with the police, and it was a busy neighbourhood with witnesses who could testify against the gang, and keep them away from Tao.

This film has to be a modern great, it's unbelievably amazing. I've just recently watched Trainspotting and Goodfellas for the first time, both amazing films who have stood the test of time, and Gran Torino is even better than those. I literally welled up at the end, fantastic epic film. Can't stress it enough.

Um, there's no need to explain the movie to me, I did watch it. I understand fully why he did what he did at the end, I just thought it was dumb. I don't understand how people like this movie, it was just so uneventful and boring to me. But whatever, people are allowed to have their own opinions. :D

I really want to see this film becuase the trailer looks really good. Also I hear that Clint Eastwood did a superb job acting. Also G4's Attack of the Show made fun of the trailer calling is "Grumpy old man growling and being racist." haha. My friend says that Eastwood's character is a bit racist during the film though.

I thought it was a pretty amazing film. Didn't really think much of it when I saw the trailer but I got dragged to it and was hooked the whole way through. The ending was as good as any other film I've seen. Really didn't see it coming though, wasn't sure how it was going to end. Which I guess made it all the better.

I haven't seen Gran Torino yet, but I've watched Clint in some of his cowboy and Dirty Harry films. Talk about kick***. The man is a stud.

"I know what you're thinking punk. You're thinking did he fire six shots or only five. And to tell you the truth I've forgotten myself in all the excitement. But seeing this is the .44 magnum, the most powerful gun in the world and will blow your head clean off...you've got to ask yourself a question. Do I feel lucky?

(About a five second pause)

"Well, do ya...Punk!?"

One of the greatest dialogues in movie history in my opinion. \:D/
