I still have received no explanation or evidence on why I was banned for 10 days, other than "Breaking Rule 7"
Any semi-intelligent person would either show me what I did wrong, or take the **** offense off my account.

Code:
Offence Type:    Breaking Rule 7    Offence Date:   23 January 2009
Appeal Date:   14 February 2009    Close Date:   15 February 2009
Reason for appeal (supplied at time of appeal):
I have seen no explanation or evidence on this "offense" other than I broke rule 7.
I will note that I have always and will always, use runescape.com to log into the game
Can you please clarify or show me evidence on why I received a 10 day ban? Because I have
done nothing, as far as I can tell, that would cause me to be temporarily banned.

Explanation of why appeal was denied:

Thank you for sending in your offence appeal - you obviously care about your account, and making sure that you read our rules can help to ensure that you can avoid this situation happening again.

At Jagex, we examine offences and offence appeals very carefully before we come to our final decision.

In this instance, we have found that you were responsible for this offence, and therefore the Black Marks you have gained will remain on your account.

We want you, and every other player, to be positively engaged in our community and the game - if you continue to break our rules, you may reach a point where you are limited to Quick Chat, or even excluded from the game on this account, or any other accounts you have.

What do you do now?

Go here to have a good read of the Rules of Conduct, there is also good advice on ensuring your account is kept secure in our Knowledge Base.

Have fun - enjoy the community and the game - and please don't spoil the experience of your fellow gamers.

Sincerely,

RuneScape/FunOrb Customer Support

Three words: Because they're dumb.

They should be forced to show evidence, unfortunately it's not court.

They ban you for playing the game normally yet they don't ban SwiftKit users (no offense y'all, but Swiftkit is considered third-party) or RWTs.

It's too bad we can't do anything to fix their system.

That's because you were caught by a system and it was not reviewed by a human and your appeal was automated.

Kind of funny that they use bots to ban those who they think are using bots.

You could mail them and explain that they made a mistake, not you. Or incorporate it into a billing query and send it to billingsupport@jagex.com" target="_blank . Make sure it focuses around billing, though lol. Maybe something like if you will be compensated for $1.67 somehow or 10 days of members credit as your absolutely sure that you never did anything against that rule because of proof 1, proof 2, proof 3, etc (strong proof). Write it in a way to get them to sympathise with you, because no matter how angry you are because of their stupidity, making them dislike you wont help.

@jason SwiftKit is a third party software, but it follows the rules of Rule 7:
Quote:
Third party software that displays pages/content from our website(s), and that has specific features (i.e. toolkits) must not be used to access our website unless that software conforms with all of the other rules, and the following additional rules:

But if they were to ban for using SwiftKit, they might as well ban for having a fansite open while playing RS too. XD

Lol. I feel for you. I just wanted to know who reported you or if they had been investigating you ever since you started playing.

I doubt they've been watching my account from the start. 5 years is a helluva lotta time to watch one account, that has never broken a rule I might add.

Then it sounds like a conspiracy against you. They probably set you up.

If SwiftKit is 'third-party', then so is FireFox, or Opera, or IE. In fact, the only program to play RS from that is not 'third-party' to Jagex is their own little RS client. Unfortunately, even to get that, you have to use a 'third-party' browser and download it.

Sorry about your ban, Sam. Jagex tends to ignore evidence and simply ban for any report they get because they can't be bothered to sift through the mess of reports they receive from wanna-be mods.

There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. The thing is that if they give you free membership days for being banned then Jagex whats the point of being banned. They punish you for doing something wrong so if making you pay for being able to do something will teach you not to do something that will make you banned again.

Yet, given the amount of unjustifiable bans (which probably are not that many compared to legit bans, but there are A LOT), they would basically be stealing their money. Jagex offered to give you a months access to members features and you would be entitled to a months worth of playing as long as you comply to their rules, for $5. If you do comply with the rules and end up banned, and then charge you for the time you were banned too, then it's kind of breaking the contract you agreed to when subscribing. Then again, when you signed up you also agreed that they have a right to ban you at will for no reason whatsoever and no need for them to prove that you broke the rules and that you didn't necessarily have a right to an appeal (or mine was like that).

Get in line.

Too many of RS offenses are dealt unjustly.

Be thankful you're not permanently banned.

Dosen't that mean it wasn't even put into consideration? I don't even see what the point of giving the option of appeals if they're just going to do that.

You didn't get evidence because they won't want people to know how they figured out how you would have been macroing. Because if you know how they caught you people would build bots that won't make that error again.

I believe rule 7 is the only rule that will not result in evidence.
