If you're going to power-Woodcut with willows, check out the spot near the Barbarian Assault minigame. Best spot in most people's opinions. If you don't mind just selling to a general store, either the spot near the Lumbridge General Store will suffice, or a spot near Rimmington's General Store will also be of interest. If you're going for Maples, try the spot just north of the Seers Village bank, it's the best spot for Maples as far as I am aware.

If you're looking for a very nice profit, you can try the Yew Trees south of Seers, or in Edgeville, but they tend to be quite busy.

As for an axe, the Dragon Axe has been proven to show a slight increase over the Rune Axe when cutting Willows, but not so much for Yew and Magic. Faster, sure, but usually not a huge difference. If you're a member and you can use the Flame Adze, or whatever it is called, try that out when you get to 92 WC/FM.

In any case, good luck on 99 Woodcutting!

You can also get some sacred clay axes to double the exp you get.

I am going for 99 woodcutting, too (For profit, of course  ). I am doing yews like my bro did. We are both f2p and yews are the best way to make a profit woodcutting in f2p. I'd do willows, but that's just as boring to me and I wouldn't want to sell the logs if I kept them. I'd probably burn them. But willows is definitely fast way.
