Anyone besides me notice that blood runes have now reached parity with deaths? I noticed it earlier this week and started wondering about the causes and the sustainability of the price of bloods on the Grand Exchange. The shops still have them at near 60gp each, so people sure
aren't buying them there and selling on the GE. That can only mean that there are one heck of a lot out there that people are selling.

Are they coming from stocks people build up over time? The only reason I can see that as a possi bility is if people are liquidating assets to buy cheap rares. One possibility.

Is something dropping a lot more blood runes? I haven't heard mention of it, but I also haven't done much killing in the new dungeon lately.

What do you think of the sustainability of the price of bloods? (read: get cheap bloods while you can).

Just a few thoughts on the rune market...

Not sure I understand. I just checked the shop price in the wizard's tower. Bloods were 550.

And how does that relate to dollars?

Possibly an increase in people using the ZMI altar to train runecrafting.

a combination of many things.

player killing is "gone" so many former pkers, rather than unsuccessfully go it alone in bounty hunter, (thus no barraging or god spells, thus no need for blood runes) they sell their runes.

second: since the exchange makes it so easy to sell their runes, rather than stand on w2 for a few hours selling at whatever price was going, which weeded out many potential lazy or slow internet sellers, now they all use the exchange, and since they want the cash fast, they sell lower.

most of the retired pking population selling bloods at minimum price with little need, prices collapse.

on that note, it is now more efficient to sell your death runes and buy bloods, then train with air/water/earth/fire wave rather than the equivalent blast. ^_^

Ok, ok, i confess...(Sort of) I'm a big ZMI user to train runecraft, but i personally dont sell for lowest price. Everytime i put them up in the ge its for market price or above. Its never taken longer than about 12 hours for them to sell either. It's honestly a shame that so many people liquidate their items they sell just for the fast cash when they could wait another day and get more. :(

that will change, albeit slowly, as they learn that the average price sells just as quick. Be patient.

Not to mention that I always get lots of blood runes from the barrows and bloodvelds.

It's simple supply and demand, as with any item. High demand, higher prices. Low demand, lower prices. More blood runes are coming into the game than are being used, so prices are naturally going down - something the GE should be helping to accomplish.

I fully understand supply and demand, but is the supply of bloods that great? People have been crafting deaths and getting them as drops for well longer than bloods, yet they have held their price.

Many people, including the commenters said that they use the bloods they get from rcing and fighting. There just seems to be far more than should be out there.

One thing I came across yesterday was an artificial price limit idea. If deaths go any further down, you can sell them to the rune shop in Tzar and get enough tokkul for an obsidian much cheaper. It is too bad that shop doesn't buy bloods.

I don't think it's because there is too many, just less people want them.

Like the reason, say, range pots tanked. Pkers where the main buyer base for deaths.

The majority of the RuneScape population are impatient and always will be. Heck, even I'd sell for the lowest price to get money quickly, but only because I'd need the money for what I was about to do next.

I think Cooper summed it up.

Remember that the opposite is true also. Impatient buyers buy at the highest price. That compensates, although none of us will ever know how much.

Personally, I'm guilty of both. If it only costs me a few k, I'll sell some things at the low limit and buy other things at the high limit.
