I think Jagex are more focused on how they actually add that little bit of extra damage when fighting along-side you. I mean, if they were more powerful then you, then nobody would have to fight again. They're nice company to have, makes training for a higher summoning level more worthwhile.
But, come on. What did you expect? Summon King Black Dragon to kill the chaos elemental while only taking 2 damage?\
And there's still that February update. I'm saving my charms for then.
I didn't expect a KBD but they *are* very underwhelming. Come on, a beaver that collects 5 logs? Woopey-fucking-do.
"Fletcher - counts as a knife for Fletching purposes" Wtf? The LOGS you use to summon it cost more than a bloody knife. XD What is the point?
Sorry that's all fine n dandy but it bloody costs logs to summon it. XD Very underwhelming. They just have these little minor add ons, that's not at all what people was looking for. I think jagexs problem is, their just trying to do these big massive complex skills and well, sorry but they suck at it.
Look at the older more successful skills, they aren't complex. There isn't 100 odd rewards for 100 odd things, cause that just creates 100 odd minor add ons and nothing that really makes people say "woah i need that".
NOTHING in summoning made people sit up and want to train the skill, nothing in it is that good that people NEED. Look at slayer, they had the right idea. Abby whips, well DAM i need one of those and i can make a fortune from it too.
It gives reason, purpose for the skill. It's like they went into this one worried they'd make it over powered and instead have just made it a very under powered, underwhelming skill. Farming was the same, woopey a spirit tree, gee wiz i need that what with all the other transports i already have. Not.
Construction was pretty much the same deal, i suppose you could argue the alter made it worth it but that didn't really attract me personally.
