30 November 2007 - Party Room Changes

You see, Party Pete is on a life-long mission to bring the 'party' to everyone on RuneScape, so he has developed an unlikely partnership with the Bank of RuneScape. Through this alliance, he believes that the 'party' will spread like wildfire.

Now, when the Party Room lever has been pulled, different things will happen according to the market value of the items in the party chest:

A value of up to 50k: there is a 10 second delay before the balloons drop.
50k - 150k: there is a 1 minute delay before the balloons drop. The Falador bankers and Party Room barmaids will announce that a party is happening.
150k - 1 million: there is a 5 minute delay before the balloons drop. The Falador men and women, bankers and Party Room barmaids will announce that a party is happening.
1 million+ : there is a 10 minute delay before the balloons drop. The Falador men and women, bankers and Party Room barmaids will announce that a party is happening. Nearly all the bankers across RuneScape will also announce that a party is happening, and will offer free teleports to the Party Room.
The bankers have entered into this agreement as they believe it will stop the Party Room being used as a means of transferring wealth covertly.

Hmm... No I hate this this change. Especially the stupid bankers and guards auto typing and say: 1m drop party in 4 minutes! 1m drop party in 4 minutes! 1m drop party in 4 minutes! 1m drop party in 4 minutes! 1m drop party in 4 minutes! 1m drop party in 4 minutes! 1m drop party in 4 minutes! 1m drop party in 4 minutes! I give this change 0/5 due to annoyingness and no reason to have this. If they want to enforce the rules, don't annoy us. (I am talking to Jagex, even though they can't hear me. Or can they? ....)

I don't see that point in the whole transfer of the party room in the first place. I liked it much better when it was in seers. Call me crazy but i just think it fit in real well there.

And another thing...i dont see why jagex is once again catering to the F2P ppl. (No offence wht so ever to those of you who do play f2p) what im saying is that it isnt the exact best idea to do if you want more people to become and subscribe for membership.

My rating: 2/5 because bank clerks announcing it and offering free teles to partyroom is kinda nifty.

Personally I don't see how they are catering to anyone...maybe f2p lvl 3s who don't know a thing about runescape and want free money. It doesn't do anything for me as f2p.

To be honest...why didn't they just toss the party room, I think its purpose has now officially been negated.

Party room isn't going to be used by any real long term players anymore. They've ruined it.

Once again they put stoping cheaters before there real customers.

I don't like this update. They ruined the party room like creepy said.

The delay with attract too much noobs. Veteran Players cant have drop parties in peace anymore (specialy when dropping items worth 500k-1M).

1/5 for me. They've ruined the part room completely. Of course, there always the poh's to have drop partys in.

I see regular drop parties being made illegal. "You must not hold a drop party as this will be considered transferring wealth from a gold farmer to a gold purchaser. You must use the Party Room in Falador."

...Wait for that day. -_-

They need to think of ways to stop real life item trading without upsetting the players.
I know there are going to be plenty of low levels who think this is the best idea ever so they can teleport to every drop party, even though their magic level is 13, and get free items that were never intended for a random person.

I know another change to the Party Room that they're probably going to make- make it specific to only certain worlds. :roll:

It was bad enough saying there was one.

Seriously.. any good drop parties have always been in secret locations where only the invited can attend - never the party room. People are making a fuss just because they can. :/

If they did this, there'd be no reason what-so-ever to even have a "drop" item option...Seriously, if they EVER do this, they'll lose the fan base that has kept RS alive since its creation.

This update was released with a purpose, I can understand that. Holding a drop party is a HORRIBLE way to transfer items from one player to another, and anyone who thinks that it is good will be the ones crying from this update. C'mon people, who would actually use the Party Room when they can just have a private drop party in their house, or some other secluded location?
