'Wont show up on startup' would mean... It wont boot to the DVD drive? Try pressing F12 when you're rebooting your computer. This will allow you to select the boot device temporarily.
i did...still tries to boot up ubuntu...
im trying to find a virtual drive to install it
yea try pressing f12 and if that just brings up the bios then switch your boot ordor so it boots from a cd instead of a HDD first and you will be fine
If you really want, you can run the installer from a current windows install. I wouldn't recommend doing that, since you're going to want to do a fresh install, not an upgrade.
Try tapping F2 when you're booting. And when I say tap F12 or F2, I don't mean once. This tapping is done as you're restarting, before the boot loader has a chance to load.
umm im on ubuntu pfk...and shwan...I tried that, im not stupid
i really hope the disk isnt bad...
might also try to format my hd that way the only thing for it to load is the disk...i have ubuntu disk if it wont work.
If you get into F2, that's usually bios information. From there you can permanently set the boot order, and you can put CD/DVD up first.
paul, u got skype or anythign i can talk to u on?
