Mining granite in the desert because its the best exp. I drop all granite but the 5kgs, which sell for around 600gp, then use a duel ring to teleport to bank, and Camulet to teleport back to the mine.

Holding onto the 5kgs means I at least make some money getting to 85 mining, already made 3.5m from 68 to 80 mining, which I suppose is Ok. :D
Did that last summer but banked the 500g becuase you couldnt break up the rocks then.
Yeah I heard there was a huge amount of money to be made doing that, especially just after summoning was introduced.
