I'm not sure about the quest as I'm not playing right now. However, about the familiar, was there by any chance a cut-scene before the fight? If so that sometimes causes your familiar to vanish
Until you log out then back in. It's a bug I guess jagex doesn't yet know about I thought they did as I reported it back when I done "spirit of summer" months ago.
spirit of summer tends to eat familiars. the phoenix always has a cutscene of it spawning b4 the fight however it's an easy fight if u range it with mage block on.
I'm sorry for ya, 99887. It's a good thing you didn't lose anything extreme though. I think that familiar glitch happened to me once. It was during Summer's End.
