There is a limit for every item, because of the limitations of Java.
Guessing, but I think it's 2^31 (2 147 483 648)...

Considering the limitations everywhere else, I'd have to agree with that assumption...^_^ Just figure out what item would give you 2^31 gp, and then add 1 more item..That'd prove it
