Can someone please tell me or link me to something that explains the bonds system better than RuneScape's official article? To be honest it seemed like they were beating around some sort of bush.

Bond costs $5, have a worth of: 14 days membership OR 8 Spins OR 160 RuneCoins.
They can be traded for any amount. After the first trade they are nontrade until 10% of the GE value is paid.

Yes, Bonds are essentially a bronze dagger, except the innate value it has is 14 Days of Membership, 8 spins, or 160 RuneCoins.
They can be traded for any quantity of any item to anyone for any reason
