But that's retarded, it's almost 'festive segregation'; merry Christmas only wishes well those who celebrate Christmas, whereas 'happy holidays' wishes well those celebrating during the holidays.

Well - those who celebrate other holiday ceremonies can be less prickish and interpret "Merry Christmas" as "Merry (insert here)"

Probably because the Christmas celebrators are the majority.

You guys need to realize the real war on Christmas. It's this me-first, me-only, self centered "it's not ok to say holiday" mentality that is the exact opposite of christmas spirit that is ruining it

The OP's statement was meant to exclude this fine community. It was more directed to those in the public service. None of my comments are to apply to anyone here as well, only to the original target.

Those in public service deal with their population. Populations are diverse. They could list off every single thing to be happy or merry about during this season, or say "holiday". Much easier........
What I think is absurd is people talking about the notion of Puritan coming to America to establish "religious freedom" instead of the more correct "discriminating your way".
