ok this is a rlly nooby question. i did recruitment drive, and i have no idea how to get the better armours. something about killing black knights i think?

yes, you need to kill black knights to get your rank up.
white knight ranks are after the quest "wanted". recruitment drive is for initiate armor only and to start the quest series off.
