Is it really? It's full of porn, child porn too. It's also a haven for piracy and other illegal activities. Terrorists can even use it as a front for business. The government does need that power.

I hope you realize this website will probably not exist if it passes.

And no matter what, illegal stuff will still happen on the Internet. Its inevitable.

It will exist because we don't permit discussion on illegal matters like piracy or drugs.

^ Laughed at this a little bit
Bill won't pass; it breaches too many rights. Government has no right to intervene with the current sway of things.
Also, American Bill =/= Terrorism free world :/

I never said the world would be terrorism free, I just think it would give law enforcement an opportunity to shutdown websites of terrorist organizations if hosted in the US.
I agree with Shane a bit. I do think the Gov needs more power in terms of shutting down Pirating sites, child port sites, and terrorist sites, but I just dont know where the line is crossed.
Something they deem as terrorism might not necessarily be bad. Such as a Tea Party site, or a Occupy site. Both have some anti current US gov beliefs, could be deemed as terrorists.

I think terrorist means use of violence to orchestrate their beliefs which is all good in my view. I think the Tea Party and most of the Occupy movements are peaceful.

We haven't seen anything anywhere yet that approaches something on the level of the underwear bomber. Shutting down Occupy or Tea Party would be shutting down free speech since they're not violent.

take my runescape but don't take my porn
That's what I like about the internet as it is now, is completely and totally up to the user to do whatever they want. If it passes it will feel like your parents not letting you go out with friends
because they don't want you to get raped or whatever.
I like it how it is, and porn is a perfectly legitimate business. You aren't forced to watch it.
^I have to agree with Meltdown. If the government wants to ultimately block what content they like, they need to start with the OS.
Well Shane, anti-gov can be thought of as terrorist sites, like they are in China, Vietnam, and most other Asian countries. I just dont want that to happen in the US.

I think anyone who is pro censorship is an incredibly narrow-minded twit. (Not trying to offend anybody). But, people will circumvent any censorship by any means. It isn't acceptable.

I encourage anyone who is pro-censorship, or on the fence of censorship to listen to the latest episode of FLOSS weekly. (Linked below).

Well Ranging God, that's the whole reasons you have elections. If something goes wrong and the public thinks it's wrong it can be changed.
People just need to accept some things shouldn't be seen.
