Just bought Terraria but whenever I try to play it I make my character but then after that it says that there is a problem with the game and it asks me if I wish to send an error report. (continued)

Can someone please help me fix this as I do not want my money to go to waste.
What's it giving you as a reason for the crash?
It just says that the game has encountered a problem and needs to close. It never says what the problem is.
