My iPod Touch, first generation (ghetto, yes) is stuck at the home screen, and is on, and is just frozen there. I have tried to turn it off, I have held the 2 buttons, I have tried every way to (cont)

turn it off but it won't. I also have the setting so that it doesn't turn off after a certain period of time so I have no idea what to do, it is basically frozen at the front screen that has settings,
youtube, calculator, stocks, contacts, clock, notes, etc.
HELP?

Holding the on/off + menu button for a long time always worked for me. If that doesn't work just let it die.
