Hmmm. If it's system-wide and not only Firefox, then I can only imagine you tinkered with ClearType. (System > Advanced System Settings > Performance (Settings)

Or you messed around in Control Panel > Personalization > Window Colour and Appearance > Advanced Appearance Settings. Not sure though.
