You can't just do about 40 picks and expect a profit :P You can get some decent herb seeds from time to time, but farmers are not profitable in the way they used to be when farming came out.
A little tip, if u have done the thieving guild quest, you get a vial of stench, that if you keep in your inventory, will allow you to sell some of those seeds right away to the seed stall in draynor.
It's not allot of money, but it's not bad for the junk seeds you get, like hop's. Usually I will thieve the master farmer trying to get strange rocks. I sell what junk seeds I can, usually 5K worth.
