I just graduated from the 8th grade last night! I gave a speech as co-valedictorian and the ceremony as a whole felt all too special. Went to a few afterparties, but I just don't feel like leaving! ;)

Thanks Lipuro, a lot of people do say I look older, but I really am 14 ;). James, what's so bad about that? o_O It's a(n) (American) graduation, and it's traditional for us to have valedictorians!

Not really traditional for middle schoolers to have valedictorians, but congratulations nonetheless.

i think there were valdictorians in my grade 8 although maybe not called that but they took function of one i guess
Thanks! Masters of ceremonies, maybe? :P Also, by tradition, I mean school tradition, but it could be a little bit more widespread across the U.S. too.

i'm from the U.S middle school is a joke and to have a valedictorian of one is a bigger joke
Maybe the entire American school system is a little bit down, but you can still push yourself to learn more and do more. You still have to do that to be among the best in any class!

Be proud that of you, not many get that chance to even go to school or too dumb to even pass grade school
