Anyone know a solution to why my iPod Classic would show up in Windows Explorer but not iTunes?

sometimes when i connect my iTouch it disconnects from itunes after one sync... usually when i close out of iTunes and open it back up it shows the iPod for me

It's being mounted as a hard drive, not an ipod. Try holding the middle button and the menu button on the ipod while its plugged in?
