cause he's one of those 2k point newblets that cant fight jad or earn a decent prayer cape besides his skillcape.
The cape was the least of my worries.
armadyl for magic defense is 2nd only to pernix. hence y he's praying vs melee on the wyrms. the cape is the only stupid part of the outfit, least if ur gonna melee them.
Magic defence is a non-issue when melee'ing ice wyrms. The damage you do take is easily overcome by shark drops/eee. Since he is using a unicorn it makes it even more useless...
...as well as giving negative melee bonuses. Proselyte should be used.
The SGS as a main weapon is also laughable.
