So I wait a couple extra days to buy a macbook pro and I waited for what? A downgrade?! (cont)

Sure the 15 inch now offers an intel i7 and is quad core but now it runs at 2.0 Ghz and has 7 hours of battery instead of 2.5+Ghz and 9 hours of battery.. WTF? This sucks
The i7 will actually be faster now. Plus faster speeds = more power...

How is it faster if it runs at a slower speed? Because of the quad core?
Quad core means it's running at 2ghz/core + hyperthreading = 8 'cores' at 2ghz.
Vs dual core at 2.5ghz.. Which would be 2.5ghz + hyperthreading = 4 'cores' at 2.5ghz.
While not best for everything,
the extra cores will be more useful in the long run as more programs become highly optimized for multithreaded uses.
