Is it true that if you launch eggs you lose points in Barb assault?

no, you don't lose points
you gain less points for launched egg kills, don't quote me but i'm 84% sure
In a way yes. You don't gain any points from a kill from an egg so you take away from either the defender, attacker, or healer depending on what you kill with it. So you loose points in a sense
