I know a perfect way to get rid of all the bots: Turn off all the servers and wait a tiny bit longer that the average botter's attention span, then turn the servers back on.

During the downtime, they could ban anyone who plays 24/7. That would get rid of at least half of the bot population.

most bot programs are smart enough to log out for a few minutes every few hours or so.
