Damage soaking update... What does this mean for divine/ely/chaotic? Hmmm.

Doesn't mean anything... it just shows how much you're absorbing, like when you're wearing divine it'll show you how much you soaked up... the hit #'s won't change.
All armor is going to same a certain about of 'soakage' even other shields
I think anything which currently 'soaks' damage will still do so but will do a special extra amount.
I hope this leads to rebalancing the Defence skill to make it work right again.
